Frank’s focus is on energy storage systems that improve and enhance renewable and conventional power generation. He has over 30 years experience with developing new applications for products. At Black & Veatch he works with electrochemical devices (batteries and fuel cells) and bulk storage technology (pumped hydro, molten salt, liquid air) in applications for renewable energy (solar photovoltaics and wind turbines) and for conventional generation (gas turbines, diesel engines; hydroelectric and coal plants).

Prior to BV, he led the early sales effort at Shift, a venture-backed technology startup based in San Francisco. He has also held client-facing roles at NRG Energy and General Electric, in which he developed and executed distributed energy deals with Fortune 500 clients across the US and Europe.

Brent is a leader in the Black & Veatch’s Power Renewables Business Line responsible for the Global Battery Energy Storage business. He is responsible for all profit & loss aspects of the Global Battery Energy Storage business including capture, execution, technology development, and client relationships. He has more than 29 years of project execution, construction, project management, and business operations experience in various industrial markets. His expertise can provide specialized leadership and guidance to the Black & Veatch and clients’ teams throughout the project with a focus on project results. Prior to his current role, he was the leader of the Global Power Construction group with included responsibilities for all Power Business construction projects worldwide.
