Global Business Lead Storage

Jason Goodhand joined DNV in 2019 as the global business leader for energy storage. Jason has pursued a career focused on new energy technologies and with over 15 years of experience in the cleantech energy sector, Jason has developed and managed businesses and projects involving grid-scale renewable energy, hydrogen fuel cells, and energy storage in Canada and the United States. Jason’s role at DNV comes after 10 years with international energy giant ENGIE in various roles and locations, most recently its North American Storage group. Jason holds a Master of Business Administration degree from the Richard Ivey School of Business and a Mechanical Engineering degree from the University of Western Ontario.

Michael Kleinberg, PhD. is the Head of Section for DNV’s Distributed Energy Resources (DER) and Energy Storage team. Michael has over 10 years of industry experience specializing in energy storage, microgrids, and advanced distribution system analytics. Michael’s clients include regulators, utilities, market operators, project developers, and grid edge solution providers. Michael has a recognized track record providing engineering analysis and technical due diligence services in the field of energy storage and aggregated DER. Michael is leading DNV’s technical due diligence efforts to support investment in both large-scale and distributed energy storage projects being deployed across the US. Michael received his PhD in Electrical Engineering from Drexel University in 2015.

Mr. Koenig is a senior Energy & Energy Storage Sales and Business Development professional. He is an SME in Distributed Energy Resource (DER), Microgrid (MG) & all Energy Storage technologies (ES) projects and systems. Outstanding leadership with a demonstrated competency of managing technology sales through times of growth, change, and ambiguity. 20+ years of progressive leadership experience in sales, business development, product management, product marketing and marketing strategy execution. Proven track record in negotiating and originating projects and sales in a complex environment with >$10M transactions involving highly matrixed multiple stakeholders and customers (utilities, IPP’s, EPC's, developers, integrators etc.).
