Our battery systems are critical to grid reliability & to a clean energy future. Ormat develops, builds, owns and operates advanced battery storage systems throughout the US. We specialize in strategically siting our projects to provide maximum benefits to the grid while minimizing site disturbance.

As grid-connected assets, Ormat’s energy storage facilities enable us to supply the electric grid with reliable capacity and energy optimization – storing energy during times of excess supply so it can be used during times of high demand. We also offer a full suite of ancillary services, such as fast ramping for frequency regulation, operating reserves, and black start.

Behind the meter

When connected behind the meter of an electric cooperative, a municipal utility or a commercial/industrial customer, our battery storage solutions enable to reduce their peak load contribution, significantly reducing charges.
