Geoff Brown is Powin's President. Geoff has over ten years of commercial and technical experience in the wind, solar and energy storage industry. He has been involved in renewable and energy storage sales efforts to utility and industrial customers across North America. From 2015 to January 2016, he was the Director of Business Development of Microgrid development for NRG Renew, Inc. From 2013 to 2014, he served as the Director of Business Development for energy storage system sales for Beacon Power, LLC. Geoff was Director of Renewable Energy Business Development for Element Power US, LLC from 2009 to 2013. Geoff holds a BS in Biological and Environment Engineering from Cornell University School of Engineering.
EVP of Global Sales & Marketing
Blake is the Executive Vice President of Sales and Marketing for Powin. He has over 25 years of battery experience in Research & Development, International Sales and Marketing management. Prior to joining Powin, Blake held leadership positions in sales and marketing at UniEnergy Technology, a vanadium flow storage company and at Saft America, where he led the creation and growth of its Energy Storage business. Blake holds three U.S. Patents, and his team was recognized by the Energy Storage Association in 2015 with the Brad Roberts Outstanding Industry Achievement Award for energy storage.
VP Business Development
As Vice President of Business Development, Jan leads the expansion of Powin's commercial enterprise. His expertise in leadership includes strategy, institutional sales, new market development, product management, and policy. Jan has extensive experience across each of the critical scales and technologies in renewable and distributed energy resources. Prior to joining Powin, Jan led project deployment and technical business development for behind-the-meter energy storage leader Stem, where he oversaw the majority of the company’s current installed capacity. Before his time at Stem, he led project development for fuel cell startup Bloom Energy in both the Western U.S. and Asia.
Senior Vice President
Danny Lu is Powin's Senior Vice President and has played a critical role in establishing Powin as a key player in the North American energy storage industry. He is currently in charge of cultivating and managing many of Powin’s key battery cell vendor and PCS vendor relationships. Lu was previously the Vice President of Global Procurement for Powin and he led the establishment of lucrative business partnerships in the United States, China, and Mexico. In September of 2013, Lu was appointed to Powin’s board of directors. Danny Lu graduated from the University of Oregon with a Bachelor of Science in International Business Studies, with a special focus on China.
EVP of Product & Engineering
Stuart “Stu” Statman is Powin’s Head of Product and Engineering. Stu’s experience includes spearheading the design and production of the first lithium-ion energy storage project to be approved in New York City and leading the creation of the world's largest virtual power plant in Australia. Prior to joining Powin, Stu was the SVP of Technology for Sunverge Energy. His key achievements include leading the engineering of the most advanced integrated energy storage platform in the industry; heading development of the 5 MW virtual power plant (VPP) in Adelaide, Australia; and the integration of multiple battery component and inverter technologies to create a broad product line with an aggregate product and service uptime across 600 different sites of greater than 98%.
Senior Vice President of Operations
John Hewitt is Powin’s Senior Vice President of Operations and is responsible for managing all aspects of Powin’s project program from commercial sale through to operation. Hewitt’s experience includes over 20 years in renewable energy with a focus in project management, strategic planning, process improvement, global business operations, recruiting and performance management, and risk mitigation. Hewitt built his career leading project management and operations for marine applications, automated process plants and renewable energy power plants and has worked for companies such as APV PLC, NEG Micon USA, Inc., Vestas American Wind Technology Inc., Senvion GmbH and Suzlon Energy Corp (Suzlon).
A seasoned business leader with more than 15 years of finance and strategy experience, Stock brings a passion for doing her part to enable a cleaner energy economy. Stock manages all aspects of Powin’s financing, accounting, and investor relations, including corporate accounting, financial and operational audits, compliance, business processes, and internal and external financial reporting. Prior to joining Powin, Stock held various positions of increasing responsibility in finance and accounting within the global manufacturing, logistics, and public utility sectors. Most recently, she was the Chief Financial Officer at TransPak, a global manufacturing and logistics corporation.
